when the bottom is up[/u]

time has
a certain weight
while we are passing thru.
the seconds that matter are those
we never knew might count—
because they look
minute.

each day
we see ourselves
hanging in the balance
as life moves— like a constant stream
of sand.  grains clearly go
against what seems
to be

easy.
isn’t that odd?
a perfect moment’s not
long enough to fully enjoy—
after all, things often
turn upside down
quickly.

the glass
is simply half
of a two-fold problem—
on one hand hope may feel empty
patience, on the other
holds our heavy
burdens.
